yes i was lucky enough to attend the opening night of their 7 night stand. this makes it show #30 for me. i didnt have high hopes of loving the show. but guess what, i did! not bad at all. i wasn't super annoyed when they played just a girl, sunday morning or spiderwebs. yes i cant stand them songs live. they opened up with my favorite jam off the new album, push and shove. you dont know how much i wanted the hear this song live!

ahhh what a night that was. tons of fun. they played all the jams, and i went crazy when they played vow!!! but in my opinion, i hate this venue. why? i cant see shit when im standing on the floor... problems of a short person. enjoy the pictures.

so in a few more hours push and shove goes on sale. i dont have high expectations for this album. but i am just so thrilled to see them back. this means more and more pictures, interviews, and concerts, where i can sit and drool and the gorgeous adrian young. yes! already have my concert tickets in hand for the gibson amphitheater. expensive as shit but anything for adrian!!!

after previewing the album... what do i think? ehhhh... but i have a feeling it will be one of them albums that will grow on you.

so as you can imagine, ive been super excited that at the drive-in has reunited this year. and i really hope they will do la shows. its been about 12 years since i last saw them live. i still cant believe i pushed gwen stefani out of my way in order to get to the front of the venue to see at the drive-in hit the stage. and what an amazing performance they put on! which reminds me i need to find the old roll of film that i have stored away. need me some reprints from when i met jim...

for some reason after seeing them live i decided to write them a fan letter... and for some weird fucken reason i wrote my phone number on it. can you believe they actually called me!!! yes. i remember being half asleep on a school night, answering the phone, and saying yeah funny prank who is this... and when paul mentioned we received the letter you wrote us, i woke up and started screaming!  so nice of tony, paul, and jim to take time and call one of their fans. so they ended up sending stickers, cds, autograph, and this awesome letter!

i hope to have cedric and omar sign their spots

i dont know about you, but its been a while since i have purchased any new music. todays music just isnt doing anything for me right now. yeah, there are a few catchy singles out there but nothing for me to go out and buy the whole cd. is it just me? is my taste in music just changing? lately ive been on pandora and my two favorite stations are dusty springfield, and elvis radio stations. why am i traveling back in time? yeah, ive always liked this music, but why am i listening to it 24 7??? is it because its when music was real? real voices? real meaningful lyrics? non of that auto tone bullshit?

also this has built a lil bridge toward exploring blues and soul. ohh yeah! i never really listened much to blues and soul besides the popular big hits. but i came to realize some of these artist would re do old songs with a faster beat and ohh man, did they do a good job at it. ohh check out hugh laurie and jimmy reed pandora stations!!! awesome!

ohh yeah, which leads to another thing, vinyl. i purchased my first record and record player. love, love, love!!! gotta get me some dusty records!!!!

many years ago i started tattooing my lower back... first tattoo started in 2004.

started adding lil by lil. 

one night i had a dream, my entire back was covered in tattoos. it looked like one of those walls you see in the streets all tagged up. i loved it so decided to go towards that but also wanted it to be a tribute to my fav band, Sublime.

So yesterday i made a stop at the beauty supply and as i was checking out the clerk asked if i would be interested in buying portable speakers for $1.50. i was like huh? speakers at a beauty supply? turns out Paul Mitchell produced eco friendly speakers. they are are made out of 70% post consumer recycled materials. they pop out and fold into actual speakers. so i was like sure let me have 2, why not try them out. so i get home assemble them and i came to realize theres 2 speakers per case. and you know what they are not bad for a $1.50. imma use mine for my beach trips this summer. also i can see these being perfect for the office. so i googled these speakers. they actually are going for about $10 on line (i forgot i get wholesale prices at my beauty supply) so i decided why not give them away on my blog.
